Conqueror’s Blade Open-World Resources & Gathering Guide
Resource Types
- Basic Resources:
- Timber (wood logs)
- Stone
- Copper Ore
- Iron Ore
- Cotton (fiber)
- Hides (animal skins) are the main open-world resources for crafting.
Special Ressources
Food (grain from farms) and Unit Mounts (horses from stables) are also gathered in the open world for army upkeep. Most resource types (except Food/Horses) have four quality tiers – Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic – corresponding to Tier I–IV nodes.
Where to Find
- Timber: Found at Logging Camps in forested areas of all regions (open-world forests). High-tier logging sites in the east yield Larch wood, while western ones yield Yew as rare timber.
- Ore (Metal): Found at Copper Mines and Iron Mines in hilly or mountainous zones. All regions have ore nodes, with region-specific rares (e.g. Tungsten drops from Maoyang’s high-tier iron mines in the NE).
- Stone: Found at Quarries in rocky highland areas. Yields stone blocks (sandstone up to granite) and can produce mineral exotics like coal or nitre at higher-tier quarry sites.
- Fiber & Hides: Cotton Fields (farmlands) produce cotton fiber, and Tanneries (pastures) produce animal hides. For example, rare cotton fields in Liangyun (SE) can yield Cloud Cotton, and rare tanneries in Ungverija (SW) can yield Bison Hide.
- Food & Horses: Farms (villages) yield Food used to feed your troops on the march, and Stables/Stud Farms provide horses (mounts) for cavalry units. These sites are typically near villages and always give their special resource (e.g. farms always give food, stables give basic horses like Jennets).

Gathering Basics
- Labor & Units: You must bring units to gather – each unit has a Labour stat that contributes to resource yield. The total labour of your warband determines how much you extract (no units means no gathering). Using a full party of high-labour units greatly boosts yields.
- Yield Limits & Costs: Resource sites have limited daily extractions. By default you can gather 1–3 times per day at a node (1 for non-allied fief, 2 if allied, 3 if your house owns the fief) using the standard “Gather” option. Each gather attempt costs some bronze coins (with a tax if the fief isn’t yours).
- Requisition Orders: You can use a Requisition Order (earned from daily quests) instead of the normal gather to bypass taxes and daily limits. Using “Requisition” ignores the fief’s tax rate and doesn’t consume your daily yield allowance for that site.
- Gather Process: To collect resources, travel to the node in the open world and select “Gather” (uses daily yield) or “Requisition” (uses a token). Your units will then work for ~20 seconds (10s at stables) to extract resources. After extraction, the resources go into your wagon (inventory) automatically.
PvP & Safety
- Beware of Player Raiders: The open world is a PvP zone – hostile players (wagon raiders) often hunt down gatherers to steal resources. Always assume you could be attacked while hauling goods.
- Use Quiet Lines: Switch to a less-populated line (channel) to avoid drawing attention. By default you spawn in line 1 (busy); changing to another instance can keep you off gankers’ radar.
- Stay Mobile: Move quickly and avoid overloading. A slow, heavy wagon or a large, encumbered warband makes you an easy target for both enemy players and roaming bandit NPCs. Keep your army weight low and use a fast mount so you can flee if needed.
- Bring Protection: Consider bringing one combat unit or an ally as an escort for defense. A guard unit (e.g. cavalry or infantry) can help fend off attackers or buy time to escape (though note it replaces a gathering unit, slightly lowering your labour pool).
- Dump Loot Safely: Whenever possible, drop off your gathered resources at the nearest town or your camp’s supply dump. This way, if you do get caught and defeated, you won’t lose an entire haul in one go.
Refining
- Converting Resources to Materials: Raw resources (wood, ore, cotton, etc.) must be refined into crafting materials at a Refinery Overseer (in towns or fiefs). For example, raw timber is refined into lumber materials, ore into ingots, hides into leather, etc., which are then used for crafting unit kits, weapons, or artillery.
- Exotic Ingredients: Refining higher-tier materials requires special Exotic resources. Exotics are rare drops from resource sites (each site type has specific ones – e.g. Flax from cotton fields, Tin from iron mines). High-level nodes have higher chances and unique regional exotics (e.g. Cloud Cotton in Liangyun or Minium in Ostaria) needed for advanced crafting.
- Fief Level & Material Tier: The quality of material you can refine depends on the fief’s level and having the right exotics. Common (green) materials can be refined in any city with just raw resources. Uncommon (blue) materials require a level 4+ fief and some uncommon exotics. Rare (purple) materials need a level 5 fief plus rare/epic exotics, and so on for higher tiers. (Food and horse resources are exceptions – these are used directly for troop upkeep, not in crafting.)
Tips for Efficient Gathering
- Use Serfs for Labor: Serfs are the best gathering units due to their high base labor and veterancy bonuses. Train 5 units of Serfs along the bottom (labour-boosting) veterancy line – at level 7–8 with upgrades, they gather nearly 4× the resources of a normal unit group. (You can recruit multiple Serf units by unchecking “Unformed units only” when creating units.)
- Level Units Evenly: Keep your gathering units around the same level for maximum benefit. Level all your Serfs in parallel (e.g. all to 5, then all to 8, etc.) so that none of them lags behind in labor contribution. Use unit XP books or medals to speed this up, since you won’t be using Serfs in actual battles.
- Plan Logistics: Monitor your wagon capacity and avoid over-gathering beyond what you can carry. If your wagon is full, any extra resources will be left on the ground as a resource pile (meaning you’d have to come back for them). It’s wise to return to a city or your camp periodically to offload supplies into the supply dump, keeping your load light and safe.
- Upgrade via Tech and Doctrines: As you progress, invest in the Agricultural Technology tree and equip Labour doctrines to further boost gathering efficiency. The tech tree (unlocked at unit level 100) can double exotic drop rates for specific resources, and high-tier doctrines add bonus labour per soldier – significantly increasing your yields in the long run.
