Unit Guide: The Wuwei Mansion Guard

The Wuwei Mansion Guard is a Tier 4 Heroic Era special melee infantry unit introduced in Season XIX: Dragonrise, obtainable only by completing its seasonal challenges. Armed with heavy pikes, they deliver exceptional piercing damage and armour penetration, boosted by passive health regeneration and skill-triggered attack‐speed buffs. Their core skills—Soul-Breaker and Brutal Sweep—provide both sustain and crowd-control immunity, making them ideal shock troops. However, they remain vulnerable to ranged and blunt‐damage units. Best employed in concert with artillery or archers to soften targets and cavalry for flanking, they also benefit from doctrines that enhance healing and reduce deployment cost.

Core Concept: Elite pike infantry handpicked to guard the king’s person and lead shock charges on enemy formations.

Abilities/Features:

  • Soul-Breaker: Unleashes rapid piercing strikes that deal massive damage and restore a portion of the unit’s health.
  • Brutal Sweep: Sweeps multiple enemies with the pike, inflicting heavy area damage and granting temporary immunity to control effects.

Role/Purpose: Front-line shock troopers—break enemy lines, absorb incoming blows, and sustain themselves through combat regeneration.

Strengths:

  • High Piercing Damage & Penetration: Excels at shredding lightly armoured foes.
  • Living for Battle: Recovers 5% of maximum health with each normal attack, boosting longevity.
  • Bursting with Energy: After using a skill, gain increased attack speed and multi‐target capability for several seconds.

Weaknesses:

  • Ranged Vulnerability: Loose formations leave them exposed to archers and artillery.
  • Low Blunt Resistance: Struggles against maces, hammers, and heavy infantry.

Synergies:

  • Artillery & Archers: Soften enemy lines before the pike charge.
  • Mansion Guard Medical Doctrine: Enhances their innate health recovery for even greater sustain.
  • Cavalry Flanks: Coordinate with horsemen to encircle and crush opponents.

Counters: Easily countered by walking pikes and heavy blunt infantry due to their formation’s open flanks and low blunt defense, struggle against any kind of impact dmg.

Notes:

  • Acquisition: Locked behind a multi‐stage seasonal challenge; completing all stages grants a permanent contract.
