Damage Calculation Overview – Conqueror’s Blade

Understanding how damage is dealt and received in Conqueror’s Blade helps you optimize your hero and units.

1. Base Damage Formula

Effective Damage = Base Damage × max(1 – (Target Armor / Attacker Penetration), 0.05)

  • If your penetration equals enemy armor, you only deal 5% damage (minimum).
  • If your penetration > armor, you deal more damage (up to 100%).
  • If armor > penetration, damage is severely reduced.

💡 Penetration counters armor. Always aim to match or exceed enemy armor to avoid damage reduction.

2. Damage Types & Armor Matching

  • Damage types: Slashing, Piercing, Blunt.
  • Armor types: Light / Medium / Heavy units have varying resistance.
  • No “best” damage type – target enemy weaknesses (e.g., blunt vs. shielded enemies).

💡 Bring a mix of unit types and switch weapons based on enemy resistances.

3. Momentum / Relative Speed

  • Cavalry and charging attacks benefit from movement speed, increasing effective penetration.
  • Static hits deal less than full-speed charges.

💡 Charging = more armor penetration = more damage.

4. Critical Hits & Bonuses

  • Critical Hits: Extra ~+50% damage by default.
    • Scales with Crit Value (chance), Crit Damage (bonus), and Crit Resistance (enemy mitigation).
  • Back Attacks: Deal more damage, bypass block/shields, and act like crits.
  • Headshots: For ranged attacks, add a large bonus and stack with crits.

💡 Crit + Backstab + Headshot = Maximum burst damage.

5. Terrain & Elevation

  • Units fight better on preferred terrain (Good > Fair > Poor).
  • Elevation affects:
    • Ranged range and accuracy
    • Cavalry charge effectiveness

💡 Place units where they perform best (avoid Poor terrain).

6. Skill Damage vs. Basic Attacks

  • Skills = % of damage stat + flat value (e.g. 58% + 984).
  • AOE skills may have reduced damage per target.
  • All buffs/bonuses (crit, headshot, back) now apply fully to skills as well.

💡 Skills now scale better and reward precise execution like headshots or flanks.

Key Takeaways

  • Stack penetration vs. high-armor enemies.
  • Use critical stats for burst builds.
  • Aim for back/flank and headshots whenever possible.
  • Match damage type to enemy armor type.
  • Terrain matters – adjust your tactics to the battlefield.
